5 Ways To Get Links From Other Sites by Mark Flavin

Wednesday, March 01, 2006

It is clear that in-bound links are very important to a site's establishment. If you want to have a website with high traffic or page rank, you need to get links from the other quality websites to improve yours constantly.

Nevertheless, there are a lot of people who have problems with getting links as they know not where to start. Here are some ways of getting links from the other websites:

1. Ask for a link There's nothing simpler than this. All you need is some bravery and take action to ask for a link. E-mail the webmaster politely and personally asking for a link and how it can benefit each other. If there's no response, follow up every 2-3 days and usually you'll be delighted with the outcome.

2. Offer a free product in exchange for a link You can always offer a product of yours, an e-book, software or a testimonial for the webmaster you've requested a link from. Try to give more than you can receive, and people will usually appreciate your kindness and link to you.

3. Write articles Writing articles and submitting them to article directories are the easiest way you can get quality links to your website. If your articles are good, people will pick it up and put them on their websites - with your resource box and link inside of course.

Writing free articles is a major traffic builder, so make good use of this strategy.

4. Give away a compiled resource of your articles If you have been writing a lot of articles, put all of them in a single folder and let visitors to your site download them for free - articles of which is in your expertise. This is an extra effective way of urging people in using your articles, and will also increase your publicity greatly.

Make sure they are related to what your website is, this way you can get targeted webmasters to publish your articles all around the Internet. Urge them to publish your articles, as long as they don't change anything and include the resource box with your link inside.

5. Exchange links/Reciprocal Linking Exchange links with other quality websites(page rank 4-5) that compliments with yours. Not only can you benefit each other but also get targeted visitors which highly increase the sales conversion between both sites.

To increase the chances of getting a reciprocal link greatly, take initiative to include a link to your potential link exchange partner's site first, this will give him or her a great motivation to link back to you.

Apply any of these steps when requesting for a link, and it'll increase the chances of a success in-bound link for you - which means a higher page rank and greater traffic.
